Privacy policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
This policy explains how JCABS (“we”, “us”) handles personal data that you share with us through this website, jcabs.in. It is written to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. What this policy covers
This policy covers the jcabs.in website, including the demo and contact form. It does not cover the data a school stores in its own JCABS system or app. When a school uses JCABS, the school decides what student, parent and staff data is recorded, and we process it on the school’s behalf. Questions about that data should go to the school first; each school’s app links to its own privacy policy.
2. What we collect
When you fill in the demo or contact form, we receive:
- your name, email address and, if you give it, phone number;
- your school’s name, your role, your city and state, and the approximate number of students;
- anything you write in the message box;
- the page you sent the form from, the time, and your IP address.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our network provider, Cloudflare, may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from automated abuse, and provides us with aggregate visitor statistics that do not identify you.
3. Why we use it
- to reply to you, arrange a demo and send you a quote you asked for;
- to follow up on your enquiry;
- to keep the form free of spam — your IP address is used to limit repeated submissions.
We process this data because you chose to send it to us for these purposes. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.
4. Who we share it with
Only with the service providers that run this website and our email: our web host (Hostinger), our network and security provider (Cloudflare) and our email provider (Zoho Mail). They handle the data only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to respond and follow up, and for no more than 24 months after our last contact with you, unless your school becomes a customer and a longer period is needed under our agreement with it.
6. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct or complete it;
- erase it, or stop using it, where we no longer need it;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf.
Write to [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can raise a grievance with us at the same address, and then with the Data Protection Board of India.
7. Children
This website is meant for school owners, principals and staff. We do not knowingly collect data from children through it. Student data held in a school’s JCABS system is recorded by the school, which is responsible for obtaining any consent a parent or guardian must give.
8. Security
The website is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Enquiries are sent to a business mailbox and stored on our servers, with access limited to the people who need it.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top.
10. Contact
For anything about this policy or your data, email [email protected].
